Welcome to the website for KCTCS State Fire Rescue Training-Area 7. It is our goal to provide informative training information making your visit a positive, helpful and easy experience.

Area 7 is one of 14 regional offices of State Fire Rescue Training (SFRT) serving the firefighters and rescue personnel of Kentucky with training and support. SFRT is a Division of the Kentucky Fire Commission within the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). SFRT is headed by Division Director Marc Rudder located at the Fire Commission Office 118 James Court, Lexington, KY. 40505.

SFRT Area 7 offers Fire, EMS and Industrial Training. Staff includes 32 adjunct field instructors, a full-time area coordinator, a full time office coordinator and is located in Florence, KY,  at the Gateway Boone County Campus, 500 Technology Way, Florence, KY 41042 in Rooms B03 A&B.

SFRT Area 7 provides classroom and hands on training to our 56 fire departments in 8 counties (Owen, Grant, Pendleton, Carroll, Gallatin, Boone, Kenton, and Campbell ) of the North Central Kentucky Region delivering on the average 1100 class hours from 2 to 60 hours in length to over 4000 student contacts. 

SFRT A7 website offers our area’s training schedule for upcoming classes in Area 7 plus events in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We hope our efforts will assist the user to find your professional training requirements in a quick, convenient website for the North Central Kentucky Region.

SFRT Area 7 is located at 3025 Conrad Lane, Burlington KY 41005.  The mailing address is PO Box 715, Burlington KY 41005.

AAS Fire Rescue Science Technology

Degree Requirements

1. FRS denotes a collegiate formatted course for 3 or more credit hours
2. FRT denotes a fractional credit course
3. The FRS course titles are only for the purpose of indicating level of material
4. You will note many courses show little, if any, hours listed in the skills section. As will all Fire Rescue Training Courses, at lease 50% of training hours are hands on work where students are learning by doing under the guidance of an instructor. The accreditation agency views skill hours as those hours in a training program where a student is practicing tasks with little if any instruction being provided by an instructor. Hours listed under lecture will include both classroom and hands on instruction.

 

Notes to table:

 

1. FRS + 3-digit denotes a collegiate formatted course for 3 or more credit hours

 

2. FRS + 4-digit denotes a fractional credit course
